2020 Toyota 4Runner will remain as the powerful mid-size SUV but there will be some updates and possibly technology addition to the lines. It is great how a vehicle starting in 1984 remains likable and popular up until today. Naturally, the 2020 model will have more variations as well as serious cosmetic updates. After all, Toyota has been making serious plans for their sixth 4Runner generation.
2020 Toyota 4Runner Concept Redesign
If you compare the previous design with the current one, you will see a lengthening process happening to the body and construction. It is predicted that the new 2020 Toyota 4Runner will retain the current longer wheelbase, designed to accommodate more passengers. With the unique construction body on frame, the 4Runner has better grip and flexibility both on the road and offroad situation.
Besides the general performance, the exterior will experience slight changes. Modifications on 2020 model may include remodeling front fascia and the front grille with redesigned headlights and more subtle nose.
The changes will also happen on the inside. Besides some improved features, technologies and features will play a huge part in the upcoming modification. Toyota makes sure that the next 2020 model will include various devices (though only available on the higher trims). In the end, appearance, performance, and efficiency will improve significantly in this SUV.
2020 Toyota 4Runner Platinum Engine
Toyota will use the same plan for the engine, which means that they are going to use the V6 engine with 4.0 liter unit. It delivers 270 HP of power, mated perfectly with automatic five speed transmission. You can choose between the rear wheel and the four wheel driving system. It depends on the trim. For the TRD Pro and TRD, for instance, you can expect the all-wheel driving system.
What about the fuel economy system for the new 2020 Toyota 4Runner? The rear wheel driving offers 17 mpg for the city, 22 mpg for the highway, and 19 mpg combined. If you take a look at the figures, it is not (yet) satisfying enough. However, Toyota is doing their best to boost this system for the 2020 model. Although they haven’t made any official confirmation about it, some sources DO claim that Toyota is working on this matter.
There hasn’t been any exact update about the price and the exact release date. Rumor has it that Toyota is working on the diesel V8 engine but, again, it hasn’t been confirmed yet. The expected price for 2020 Toyota 4Runner is set around $34,000 while the release date is around late 2019 or the early 2020.
