Tomorrow starts week 1 of my 16 week half marathon training program for the half I plan to run at the end of April. I’ve been a little lax with my running, but this week I ran 3 days for a total of 14 miles. Starting Monday I get my butt in gear.
It could be tricky doing my own training while also running with the beginning 5K group, but I know people who have done it and it’s totally do-able. And weeks 1 through 9 of the program only have long runs of 5 or 6 miles.
In other news, I found a pace group leader, and I found a place to hold my informational meeting for the new running program. Now I just hope people come! I made a flyer which I plan to post around the county and I’ll give a bunch to the running store for their customers.
It’s just running, running, running here!
Oh, and I also have two new clients in the works for my health coaching business. I’m really excited about that. And one of my current clients has lost 40 pounds! He is doing great and looks so good. It’s such rewarding work, I really hope I can get this business off the ground and have it be somewhat lucrative for me.

Good luck with your training! And great news about your client. You must be so proud
I’m looking forward to watching your training – I like the idea of only 16 weeks vs. the 25 that I did for my half.
this is such great news Linda
so happy for your success!
Sounds like it’s ‘all systems go’.
Hi! Great story! I am 50 and planning to run a half marathon this spring. I am looking for a 16 week program, too. Where did you find yours or do you have a suggestion of where to find one online?
Hi Deanna – So glad you are planning a half marathon! I kind of made up my plan, but it is based heavily on Matt’s book: http://www.nomeatathlete.com/half-marathon-roadmap/. There are good plans in the book, you should check it out. I am not affiliated, just a satisfied customer!
