Remember when I planted these tomato plants?

We planted three in the topsy turvy planters and one died. But the other two are doing really well.
They have lots of tomatoes on them – so exciting! It’s like having little babies.
And my herbs are looking good too.
I have parsley, basil, rosemary and thyme, and there is a jalapeno pepper plant in there too.
I’ve been watering like crazy since it got so hot this week.
Today I went to the farmers market and a bunch of the farmers were selling corn. I talked to one of the farmers and he said he doesn’t grow GMO corn so I bought a few ears. He said no one has ever asked him if his corn is GMO before at this particular market, but in Northern Virginia people do seem more concerned. He says he grows GMO soybeans, and the difference in his yield between non-GMO and GMO soybeans is incredible. It’s getting hard for farmers to grow non-GMO soybeans because they just can’t compete with the GMO soybean farmers.
I also bought a couple of tomatoes, since mine aren’t ripe yet and some cucumbers. The corn was pretty good, not super sweet though. But very crisp and fresh!
I sliced the tomato and cucumber and grabbed a basil leaf from the garden. Just sprinkled with some freshly ground sea salt.
Then I caramelized some onions and made a wrap with a Field Roast Italian Sausage (vegan of course), some vegenaise and dijon mustard. Yummy lunch.
