This is a redo of a popular post from a year ago, particularly relevant to my life today.
I read about personal first aid kits on blogs not long ago. What is a personal first aid kit? It is like a medical first aid kit, except it is to help you emotionally. You know, when you are feeling down, or frustrated, or angry, you open your personal first kit and find soothing, inspirational items.
My personal first aid kit is in a basket:
It contains lots of things that are inspirational to me.
Movies:
A soft shawl that I knit:
A photo of Dean Karnazes:
A photo of Kara Goucher (I have a girl crush on her):
Books:
A bottle of sea salt with lavender essential oil:
An old phone (which represents connecting with people – a good thing to do when I am feeling down):
A tiny photo album with pictures of my kids:
Cards from good friends:
A story my daughter wrote and a card my son made when they were little (the story is hilarious):
A key chain with the words “Stop Thought” that I got when I was in my fear of flying support group:
River rocks:
This is a potholder that I made, it represents a difficult time in my life when I was supported by good friends and we made potholders together through the internet:
What would be in your personal first aid kit?
